Menia Governorate is located in the middle of the Nile valley with about 5 Million capita. It is divided into main 7 municipalities. Big cities depend on the Nile river as the main source of water, while smaller communities depend mainly on groundwater.  Menia has about 8 water treatment plants that relay on Nile river as source of raw water and about 137 small water plants that depend on the groundwater.
